Has anyone heard of a Dr. Nemeroff who does myomectomy thru the vagina?

Someone told me that he did a myo without incision and she went back to work the

next day. Sounds too good to be true or maybe she had a pedunculated fibroid

hainging in just the right place. I think i'll just be lucky enough to have a

bikini cut when I go in for my myo on April 27. Im going to New York for

surgery and having Dr. West do the procedure. He and his staff had been

absolutely

fabulous calling me back and answering every question that comes up.

This is one of the established myomectomy approaches, but it's

not suitable for everyone's fibroid case. Again, it depends on

type, size and location.

Best wishes for your myo in April ne!!

This procedure is also called hysteroscopic resection. It can only

be done on fibroids inside the uterus (submucousal) that are not too

big. It also requires a skilled doctor who is well trained in this

type of procedure.

I am not familiar with the non-evasive procedure.

Just wanted to let you know I have an office visit with Dr. West on April 11.

Good luck on your myomectomy.

I live in NYC and was scheduled for a laparotomy on 3/31. After weeks of

reading emails from women in this group I was prompted to seek a second opinion

and am glad I did. This week I saw Dr. Keltz (fertility specialist) in

Manhattan and am now planning for laparoscopic (for a pendeculated fibroid) and

hysteroscopic (for submucosal) myomectomies on 4/29 after 2 shots of lupron.

Dr. Keltz is highly experienced in performing both of these procedures.

Dr. Keltz is very confident that he will be able to remove my fibroids

without an abdominal incision. He says so based on " regular " and saline

hysterosonograms. Of course, there is no 100% guarantee and he may have to

resort to an

incision. I, however, will know that I exhausted all of my options before the

drastic cut.
