for vasectomies and " Rs 1,500 every month for life " to women who

volunteer for hysterectomies. "

The powerful inherit the earth

AHORE: Some 100,000 acres of government-owned land in the 18 districts

of the Punjab will be distributed to " the deserving " , announced

Revenue Minister Munazar Ali Ranjha of Sargodha recently. According to

one official, some 200,000 acres of government-owned land has been

forcibly taken over. The giving away of the land to the deserving is

more a sign of surrender than charity.
