Guest guest
My first fibroids were not submucosal. They were not palpable or visible on transvaginal ultrasound 18 months after the UFE. My current fibroids are numerous submucosal, one is right in the endocervical canal, preventing the doc from even getting an endo biopsy. These are definitely new. I had a very mild skin reaction to the angio dye. I would not consider another UFE, because I'd like to save further angio dye exposure in case I need it for cardiovascular interventions as I age. Big family disposition toward that, my dad has had five angiographies in the last five years. I don't know if the new fibroids grew in retaliation to the assault of the thermal ablation I had a few years back, who knows if that was a trigger that set them off? That's such an obscure question that I don't think ANYONE will ever fund research on it! > Hi - You said you had UAE 4 years ago and have new fibroids. Do you know if these are the ones that were there when you went in for UAE and they found a new blood supply, or are these truly new? I would like to rid myself of mine forever. I know that hysto. will do the trick, but I wonder if UAE would, too? > Amy
