Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just to recap my situation. I'm now 26..I was diagnosed w/3 submucosal fibroids in august. In November I had my ultrasounds done 1 was 6cm and the other's were 4.2 and 4.6. My dr put me on depro to see if it would have any effect on my condition considering that the it seemed that my tumors appeared in a 3 month span from May to August. Today, I went to see my gyn for my annual/depro/sonogram, basically the works. First, the only side effect of the depro I'm really having is that my breasts are lactating. Secondly, I advised my dr of all the research I've done and how I tried to get into the study @ university of rochester. she said the univeristies around me are not doing any studies on fibroids and they've had serious cutbacks. Third, I told her if the fibroids are larger then there is no reason for me to be on the depro cuz its not helping the situation. The ultrasound showed that my fibroid (the 6cm one) almost doubled in size. we did both a transvaginal and an abdominal but i did not have a full bladder, I have a prescription to have that in two weeks. So, we decided that I will not continue the depro. Also, it seems that the largest fibroid is taking a mickey mouse ear formation (sorta like huge and hanging from the top but not like predunculated). My Dr suggested a couple of RE's and said that after my sonogram in a couple of weeks. That she will have me see one of them to determine if i need to go ahead w/a myomectomy. She did state that she would prefer not to do the myo if in fact that fibroid was not a true mickey mouse ear type. She was also estatic when I inquired about accupunture. I'm really stressed about this entire fibroid thing yet again. I've been going through a lot of life changes as well, many stresses at work and passings of very close and important people in my life that used to help me maintain homeostatis. thanks for listening...
