Differences in Post-Op Swelling?

Is there a difference in post op after a hysterectomy

versus having a myomectomy-I am mostly refering to

swelling. I know that many who have had myos talk

about how it takes months before the uterus shrinks

again and therefore there is swelling and a pouch

until that happens, especially when the fibroids were

very large and the uterus got very stretched out. Is

it logical to say that the swelling would NOT occur

when the uterus is removed (and ovaries and cervix

kept)?

Unfortunately, any kind of abdominal surgery usually results in swelling that

lasts 3-4 weeks.

There was a recent thread about " swelly belly " on the HysterSisters forum:

This thread has suggestions for coping with swelly belly:

http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89755

It's also discussed in HysterSisters' " Fifteen Things We Have Learned " article,

which has suggestions for women recovering from a hysterectomy:
