I bled off and on for 3.5 weeks (including a period) following my myo. Am

crossing my finger for an improved period this week. I think spotting is normal

following the operation.

optimistic that I'll return to normal.

I've been bleeding consistently since last October. I was prescribed

Megestrol (progesterone, 40mg/day) to slow the bleeding after my D&C in

March. My Gyn had me switch back to my regular bcp's (Micronor) 2 weeks

after the last surgery, and the bleeding returned...so I was put back on the

Megestrol until I could schedule a Myo. I've gained 10 lbs. while on the

medication...ugh! I'm looking forward to *finally* getting back to a normal

exercise routine and losing the weight.

For those who have had Myo's...how long did it take before the bleeding/

spotting stopped? Did you have a normal period the next month?

It seems like I remember a little spotting, but no real bleeding

until right at about a month post-op - after the last Lupron shot

wore off.

Also, unless you are wanting to get pregnant, I'd have to advise

using a backup bc method b/c I conceived literally the first time I

had sex after my first period. I think the fibroids had really been

hindering things before. It was a great result for us, because we

were ready, but I know that's not always the case. BTW - sex can be

quite uncomfortable for many weeks. Tell your partner to be

patient. Things will return to normal.
