Guest guest
Thank you so much for your reply. I hate doctor shopping so I will list the area I am from on the site to see if anyone knows of anyone in my area. I did write my doctor a letter tonight asking her if she offers any other options. This will be the real test as many times they are offended by such questions! Thanks again,
Guest guest
It amazes me that a doctor would give you only those 2 options to treat an asymptomatic fibroid or a fibroid causing minimal symptoms. If you haven't already considered it, you may want to find a new doctor who understands fibroids and isn't so anxious to cut you open. You could just try the wait and see approach for a while and see if you even need to treat the fibroid. I don't have any experience with mifpresidone. I have been on birth control pills to help manage my fibroids. I don't think it helps me but I have so many and some of them are pretty big. I just wanted to respond to you re: your doctor. There are plenty of docs out there who will give you more time and will give you more options. If you let everyone know the area you live in, I'm sure someone in this group can recommend a doc. Good luck! --- mvandenboom juniorboone925@...> wrote: > Hello, I've enjoyed reading your posts. Guest guest
Hi M. Vandenboome, Welcome to the group, or LOL (ladies of the list as some say). All I can say is " That's what they all say " .. You do not have to get an hysterectomy just because some MD said so. I loved the comment on of the ladies said the other day the " You are the CEO of your own body, and you get to make the decisions about what is done to it. " (or something like that.) When I joined this group I had been told by 5 different doctors that my only option was hysterectomy, so I would definitely " shop around " if I were you. If you are planning on having children a myo is a good option. I had one seven years ago and regrew tons of fibriods. I however am 48 and have given up on the hope of having a baby. I opted for UFE (uterine fibroid embolization) three months ago and couldn't be happier. It's up to you, you are in charge of your own body and life, not " them " . (I mean the doctors and the fibroids.) mvandenboom juniorboone925@...> wrote: Hello, I've enjoyed reading your posts. Has anyone used mifpresidone (don't know if I spelled that right)? or any other non surgical methods to beat down the beast?
