Guest guest
Hi Everyone. Some of you may remember me and my story so I will keep my intro brief. I had my first child 6 weeks ago. I had a very difficult pg due to multiple large fibroids. Two of them started degenerating at the 15th week and 22nd week. I was on bedrest from 15 weeks until she arrived in the 37th week. I am now faced with a difficult decision. I go to see my doc for my 6 week follow up on Monday and want to come armed with questions. I had a myomectomy 5 years ago to remove 15 large fibroids. I had a c- section with my first child b/c they said it was too dangerous for me to deliver naturally due to risk of uterine rupture. My first question is: is it unhealthy to not remove the degenerated fibroids before getting pg? Aren't they dead tissue now and couldn't that cause infection? I want to avoid a myo if I can and want to have the option of just getting pg again. Unfortunately, this would mean possibly having another difficult pg with an infant at home. But, I am afraid of having another major surgery to my uterus. Also, I am not familiar with alternate surgical treatment that would preserve my uterus so if anyone is, please share. I don't have much time to decide this b/c my body grows fibroids fast and furious. So, if I do want to get pg again I will have to do it soon. If anyone has been in a similar situation, please share your thoughts. Thanks!
