Guest guest
Lynn, 2 years ago I also had a D&C along with hysteroscopy to see what was going on with my fibroids. My gyn also said he scrapped the ling of the uterus and one of the fibroids. This helped to control my bleeding for one month only. The next period, my bleeding came back just as heavy (and clotty as before). I decided some months later to have a UAE. I did not want any more children, so myo was really not an option for me. (But neither was hysterectomy.) I did get good results from the embolization. Good luck.

Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new to the group and have enjoyed all the info I've been reading in these posts. I had a D&C and Hysteroscopy on Monday in hospital. I have had consistent bleeding for the past 5 months and was diagnosed with a small interior fibroid (via sonogram) in January. I've been to 3 doctors, all of whom had different opinions on treatment (naturally, one of them recommended - a hysterectomy!) The doctor who performed my surgery said that my uterus had an abnormally thick lining and she removed alot of tissue. She saw the fibroid and said it wasn't insignificant, and could be removed if necessary via abdominal Myo. Could a fibroid cause the uterine lining to thicken? Anyone have a D&C or Hysteroscopy prior to Myo or other surgery? Is it possible that the removal of tissue could solve my bleeding problem? Any comments or input would be appreciated, Lynn
Guest guest
Often a fibroid located inside the uterus can be removed vaginally with a hysteroscopic resection. Not all doctors are trained to do this surgery, so you may have to look to find one. If the fibroid is imbedded in the uterine wall you would probably need the abdominal myo. Anything inside the uterus that distorts it can interfere with the normal uterine contractions and cause heavy bleeding, so you really need to have it removed or bleeding problems will probably continue. > Hi everyone, > > I'm new to the group and have enjoyed all the info I've been reading in these > posts. > > I had a D&C and Hysteroscopy on Monday in hospital. Guest guest
Lynn, what kind of bleeding are you having? I was having severe bleeding and hemmoraging from a 10 cm fibroid, and 2 cm fibroid. Not sure which one was causing the bleeding but I guess it doesn't matter anymore. I had a UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization) about 5 weeks ago. Bleeding has stopped for good. UFE is great for bleeding problems, and bulk symtoms take a bit more time to resolve. You might want to join the yahoo embo group to find out more info on this.
