Guest guest
Can an endometrial ablation help with fibroids? I've read on the board that it doesn't, but I'm wondering if I could have had fibroids that were helped by my ablation 5 years ago. I had severe gushing for years, was anemic, had several D&C's, tried hormone therapy and nothing worked. The Gyn wanted to do a hyst for many years, but I was preserving my fertility, because I had always wanted more children. Five years ago, however, I had had enough and the the doc offered the ablation which completely stopped my periods. I don't remember anyone ever saying the word " fibroids. " I know that they looked inside my uterus with a scope and said I had no polyps. Could I have had fibroids then and not known it? If I did have fibroids, then would the ablation have worked? Of course, I don't have bleeding issues any more, but I do have terrible bulk symptoms. I just wonder if anyone has had an ablation for fibroids that worked.
