Pam, I tried sending this e-mail to you personally twice. It came back both

times. So I am posting it on the list. Maybe the other ladies here can

help you with your MRI report too.

:)Sonja

Hi Pam,

I hope I can help you with your MRI results. I'll do the best I can. They

are a bit vague.

>My MRI report states " Large fibroid within the right anterior uterine body

>causing marked mass effect ont he endometrium.

A: The report says the fibroid is within the uterine body. This usually

means it is an intramural fibroid (growing in the muscle wall.) It is in

the front of your uterus on the lower right side. It must be large enough to

be growing inwardly pushing on the endometrial cavity. If it is positioned

near your cervix, it will be very important to have it removed before any

future pg.

>This fibroid contains a small are of cystic degeneration.: The report also

says my ovaries are >normal.

A: Cystic degenerations are quite common in women. They are commonly formed

near the ovaries or the cervix. They usually enlarge with a change of

hormone levels and then degenerate on their own. They are cysts, meaning

fluid-filled, benign. They are not known to be problematic with pg. Your

ovaries look normal, good news!

If indeed your fibroid is intramural, a resection surgery will not be

appropriate. However, if the report suggests that " within the uterine

body " means a submucosal fibroid, then resection will be your answer. Call

your doctor's office. Ask to speak with the RN to discuss your report. The

RN may need to call you back, but you may not have to go in and see your

doctor for answers. The RN can explain what type of fibroid you have. And

if he/she cannot, he/she can certainly ask your doctor and get back to you.

Then when you do get your answer, you can be better prepared for your

upcoming appointment.

Good luck my dear. I'll be praying for you!

Please keep in touch.

Hugs,

:)Sonja
