Guest guest
Before I go and get right back in bed , I just wanted you to know that I am HOME from the hospital. I was discharged yesterday afternoon at about 2:30. I was in the hospital from 4/29 to 5/2. I was on Morphine the first day, but it made me SO sick! I was stepped dwon Friday to Percocet and then stepped down further to just Motrin by Saturday morning. There were a total of 14 fibroids removed/burned from my uterine area. The largest one looks to be the size of a 3 month fetus. She actually gave me the poloroids. I was absolutely flabergasted that all of those aliens had taken over my body for who knows how long. She said there were some coming dangerously close to my Fallopian tubes, so it's good that we got in there in time. She also found a moderate amount of Endometriosis as well, which she burned off and will treat on an outpatient basis probably with Lupron. My incision is beginning to heal fairly and I have no staples...just dissolvable stitches.I am moving around slowly and ok, but it is a bit painful when I cough, laugh, squat, bend over. Generally, I'm feelin pretty good. The incision sorta burns a bit, but hopefully that will subside. I took a backwards shower this morning b/c I was tired of the birdbaths in the hospital and needed to feel CLEAN. The incision didn't get wet though, as I was really careful. My stomach is so much flatter. I definitely feel happy about the decision to go with the ab myo. My doctor ( , Physician and Midwives Collaborative Practice) was great and I would highly recommend her to anyone in the DC area. Everytime the nurses came in to check me, they oggled over how " beautiful " the incision is. They said you can barely tell she really cut me. Anything anyone can recommend to prevent scarring by the cut now that the incision is starting to close up? If anyone has questions, fire away!
