I was wondering if anyone is using chelation for a child that

presents with an anxiety disorder but absolutely no autism. My

daughter is 8 and I hate to see this brilliant, caring child suffer

with anxiety.

thanks in advance

Based on my own experience, I would definitely consider it. A year ago

my hair started falling apart. First I underwent thyroid and hormone

testing. Nothing. By spring, I was having difficulty sleeping because

there was a knot of anxiety at the base of my ribcage that I couldn't

relax. This was entirely new for me--I'm not an anxious person by

nature. I did a lot of research on my own, and finally asked the

doctor to check my mercury level. Bingo. After a few rounds of DMSA,

the anxiety disappeared. The reason I'm on this list is because of my

son, who has some autistic-like tendencies, compounded by a major

problem with anxiety. My NT daughter is also highly anxious. ly

it's odd that they're both so anxious--this just isn't that kind of a

household. I am now awaiting an appointment with a DAN doctor to

discuss chelation for both of them, because I'm convinced that mercury

is responsible.

GABA is extremely effective for me for REDUCING anxiety.

I don't take it regularly, but I started taking it during

a period when I was VERY anxious, had tried all sorts of

things (no results) and was grasping at straws. GABA

not only helped, it helped NOTICABLY and RIGHT AWAY.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

good wishes,

Moria
