Guest guest
Hello ladies, I posted last week that I was six days late, tested once with a home pg test (a negative result,) and asked the question " what should I do? " Well, I decided not to test again, but to just call and have the blood test. I went in to my RE's lab on Saturday morning at 7:00; they said I didn't need an apt, just come in and have the blood drawn. And can you believe my RE was there? I asked him to test for pg and he also recommended that we test my progesterone level just in case I didn't ovulate. He called me that afternoon with the results... a big NEGATIVE on the pg test. Well, I really wasn't surprised. He also said my progesterone was low and that I either ovulated late this month or not at all. So he suggested I wait five more days to see if my period was still on its way. If nothing happens, he wants me to come in and get a progesterone injection to stimulate a period so that I will ovulate sooner. Well, I'm hoping my period does come in the next few days because I am getting on a plane on Mother's Day to leave for another state. I really don't want to be on my period during my vacation if I don't have to be. If my period does not come, maybe my RE will let me wait for that injection one more week after I get home from my trip. My DH and I have a week's vacation planned next week that will hopefully bring us some romance. So if I can put off the injection, I will! So, I have decided not to worry and stress myself out about missing my period. What can I expect since I had all those noxious fibroids? They never made me miss a period, but now that they are gone my uterus has to function alone. Things are still not back to norm, it's only been four months since my last resection. If my poor ovary wants a break, I'll give it to her! All those years of being ignored when I was taking such high doses of the progesterone bc pills, my ovary may need more time to get back in the swing of things. She did fine the first three months after surgery, but now is showing her 30 years of age. So for now my DH and I will have a little fun without putting stress on my Do (dear ovary); she can take a break! Thank you to all who gave me support. I'll keep you posted with future pg tests! Hugs, :)Sonja ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Thank you Roma, I appreciate your description and definition of PID. Yes, when we experience something unusual for the first time, it is easy for us women to think of all the worst things it could possibly be! --------------------- Thank you , This week when I speak to my RE again I will discuss your " year's plan " idea. We have a tentative plan for now. We decided (after my last resection in December) to TTC for six months before using any drug therapy. Then after that point if I'm not pg, we'll consider trying Clomid. I guess step by step is a good way to go, but I need to ask my RE what I should expect if each step brings us no positive result.
