Dear Roma,

Thanks so much for the timely and wise information. Right after the doc says my

pelvic area is in good shape, the fibroid is in a good place-it's a subserosal

situated at the bottom of my uterus, and it's a large fibroid---then he adds " a

hysterectomy needs to be done. " I wish I had asked your logical question, Roma,

" Doctor, on WHAT are you basing your opinion to do X? " Next time I'll use it.

He doesn't do myos. When I asked him about UFE, he said " That procedure only

eliminates 30% of the tumor or tumors. "

I'm not getting a endometrial biopsy. Today I learned from my friend, who

wanted to keep her uterus, had an endometrial biopsy. Previously she had

oblation surgery (something like that) to treat her severe bleeding from

fibroids. The biospy came back pre-cancerous. Caving, thinking of no way out,

she went in for a hsyt. Her ovaries were left. THEN, the results from the

lab report on her supposedyly pre-cancerous fibroid tumors and uterus came back

with NO CANCER. Her fibroids were benign and there was no cancer in her uterus.

She has had depression that has been treated with meds. After surgery she also

went into a critically low estrogen level, and was put on HRT. She urged me to

keep away from a hyst if it was possible to do so.

I may participate in a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Medical/Enviornmental study on " Why Fibroids Grow. " I haven't found out much

about it, except that I have to travel there 4 times a year at my own expense.

They want to do an MRI in June if I decide to participate, and they still want

me. Also, they would like me to do nothing about the fibroids, no hyst or myos.

Not sure about what to do. I'll know more next week. My doctor said no herbs,

diet, enviornmental factors influence the growth of fibroids, it's just

genetics. This study appears to be looking for other factors besides genetics.

Your message was fantastic, thanks for taking your time to share the

information. Thanks also for writing out what LOL means Ladies of the List, I

didn't know what it meant!

Kay
