Hello, I had my ufe on february 25th 2004 ,I am 52 years old and I

have not had a period yet,I had my fsh test and it says I am in

menopause, just 2 weeks post ufe bleeding and I have little pieces of

the fibroid discharge everyday so far, no pains just some hot flashes

and am still tired and I was also severly anemic prior to the ufe,

But I have noticed a considerable difference since my ufe no more

shortness of breath I can go for walks and no feeling of being dizzy

and alot more energy just as i said tired. It was the best thing I

could have done for my self it gave me back my life. This board has

been great , I have learned so much my gyn was against my ufe and she

only recommended a hysterectomy, she has not returned my calls since

I had the ufe so I will be searching for a new doctor.........

Hi kay,

If I may ask some questions-

Did you have a one month follow-up

with the IR who performed the UFE

and is the IR aware that your

gynecologist has not responded to

your phone calls? Were you notified

verbally or by mail that your gynecologist

was going to discontinue providing medical

care for you following your decision

to have the UFE?

I'm really hoping the lack of a follow-up

phone call is a glitch of some type.

Did you leave phone messages with the

receptionist?

I would think the American College of

Obstetrics & Gynecologists (ACOG.org)

would have some model for ending a

physician - patient relationship.

Have you already checked with your IR

about referral to other gynecologists/

or primary care physicians knowledgeable

about UFE who would be willing to

provide follow-up care / coordination

with your IR?
