Carla,

I'm not sure that it's misleading advertisement, however they present

Lupron information on the same page as fibroid information. What

conclusion do they want us to draw? It's " suggestive advertising. " They

probably ran it by their lawyers ...

I didn't realize that Lupron is not approved for fibroid treatment. This

is interesting since my gyn/ob recommended Lupron as my only alternative to

a hysterectomy. After doing some research, I decided to not take

Lupron. Since I do not have heavy bleeding problems although the fibroid

is the size of a 16-week pregnancy, I feel pretty safe in waiting for a

while longer to see if my 52-year old body may decide to go into

menopause. I am left with other symptoms and much discomfort, though.

Carla,

Well, the website is definately an ad for Lupron. It's misleading in the

sense that the information is superficial, and not very useful, but it

never says directly or indirectly that Lupron can or should be used to

treat fibroids. It states pretty clearly that it is to be used as a 3

month preoperative treatment for anemia (along with iron).

The one patently false statement that I noticed is that there are only

three treatments for fibroids: no treatment, " conservative " surgery, and

" nonconservative " surgery.

It doesn't seem particularly harmful, except in the sense that the website

doesn't give enough information on which to base any decisions.

I haven't been on-line in a bit but just now I tried to go to this

website and get a " file not found " error message. Tap reading our

list group and deciding to exit before questions get asked in

public???
