Guest guest
Dear Group, Although an official cease and desist request has been sent to the moderator of another group requesting she delete posts which were posted HERE and are fully covered by copyrights of this group and introductory email instructions for this group, no action has been taken by that moderator which would proactively take care of this problem. Quite the contrary. Privacy of members posting content on this group is an issue I take very, very seriously. Blatant disregard of our group policies will result in immediate removal of the member from this group. Further, should the posts in question NOT be removed from the online archival of the offending group's support group, I will not hesitate to take further action by contacting Microsoft (who, ultimately, owns/oversees Yahoo these days) and request that the posts be summarily removed and sanctions taken against the group in question. Freedom of speech does NOT include the right to ignore copyrights or ownership of content. This is an issue which has come up several times over the last 5+ years and, apparently, there are individuals who simply do not understand what it means to respect written content belonging to another OR even the simple policies which are sent out to all members of this group upon accepted membership. There are NO exceptions to this policy. NONE. If I were to allow latitude on even ONE stolen email from this group reposted elsewhere without permission, the copyright and privacy protection of ALL the email of this group would be in question. In the past, Microsoft has been highly responsive to my queries for an investigation and action. In fact, their own Terms of Service also contain content that clearly outlines MEMBER CONDUCT. Please read #6 of the following for more information: http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/ Rest assured, upon request Yahoo/Microsoft does indeed investigate complaints and takes their own Terms of Service extremely serious. Reposting content from this group to another group without permission is a violation of copyrights, shows blatant disrespect for the author of the originating email, does not allow for proper rebuttal, and is misrepresentation of content taken out of context. If I become aware of any incident where this occurs from email originating on this support group, it is my duty to address the violation(s) head on and take appropriate actions/sanctions. No ifs, ands, or buts. This may seem like an awfully harsh email and I do apologize for that -- but find it critical that members understand my position on this AND precisely how seriously violations are considered.
