Guest guest
, Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great birthday! I totally understand about being out of shape due to bed rest! That is one reason my doc took me off bed rest when he did because he said I had to start regaining muscle as muscle is needed during labor, delivery, and after the baby arrives. Keep up the great work, it sounds like you have a very positive attitude, which is great!!! Lyn 27, UD Preg w/#1 38w5d - **Getting VERY anxious to meet this little one!!!** -- 22wks (pg mentioned) Hi ladies! Been reading the posts and it looks like everyone is doing well and I'm happy for all of you! Keep cooking those babies and baby dust to those ttc! My 26th bday was pretty cool. My best friend came over and brought me cookies! She helped me clean (I gave up on DH-it's just not his thing even though I'm on bedrest!) and we watched Mr and Mrs (sigh...they're both so freaking hot!!) My dh came home and we went out to dinner at Mongolian BBQ. I made one of the best bowls ever! After dindin we went to my mom's house cuze she'd made me one of her famous fudge covered cakes. (seriously, pg woman's dream) I've taken it easy today since I was sooo busy Mon and Tues. I snuck out on Monday and spent my Motherhood gift card. I was very disappointed at how out of shape I've gotten due to the pg and bedrest! I got WINDED going from the parking lot into the mall....ugh. Today was my 22wk mark!! (, how're you doing?) and my belly popped some more! I can't believe how big I am and I'm just over half way there! I have another doc appt tomorrow and I plan on asking about going back on antidepressants at some point (at avoid PPD) and about any kind of exercises they'll let me do. Also, at what point they'll consider giving my steroid shots since this little guy may very well make an early arrival! I had more to say...but I can't think of it now! Sorry for such a lengthy post-but I'm on bedrest and bored an a little lonely!! best wishes to ya'll! amanda uu/26 22wks today --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
Hello , I joined this group a while ago, but don't post too often as I'm on bedrest and don't have a laptop, so the days I can sit for long at the computer are quite rare. I just wanted to say that you have my sympathy with your frustration about being on bedrest! I've been on partial bedrest since the beginning of October - I'm 24w2d pregnant now - and apart from the boredom and loneliness, I also worry about how out of condition I'm getting. The only times I go out are to go and visit the doctor at the hospital and each time I go, I'm shocked by how much more difficult it is for me just to get down the stairs even - I feel like I've aged 30 years in 3 months! My obgyn has finally started listening to my complaints and has prescribed me sessions with a physiotherapist for massage and to learn exercises to do in bed/at home - I'll let you know if he comes up with anything useful! The worst thing is that it's difficult to know how to find a balance - on the one hand, I'm prepared to do anything to keep this baby safe and sound and keep it in as long as possible, but on the other hand, I don't really want to endanger my own health and become so weak that I won't be able to look after the baby. And the doctor keeps telling me that, actually, there's no proof that bedrest really helps anyway!! It's good that you have family and friends around to keep you company and cheer you up. My DH is French and we live in Paris, far from my family and my close friends, so the telephone is really my main lifeline at the moment. Luckily my DH is pretty understanding and has become an expert at housework and shopping (although my shopping lists have to be VERY detailed!) " Bon courage " as they say over here - and remember that you are doing the best possible thing for your little one (that is what I keep reminding myself!)
