Guest guest
Hi Isabel, I hope that that the UAE hasn't pushed you into early menopause. Thats what I was thinking after I missed 2 periods. I had 3 periods then skipped 2. I know that my right ovarian artery was involved in the ebolization so that is why I feared possible early menopause. I'm 47 and women in my family usually have menopause in the mid fifties. Have your ob/gyn check your hormone levels to see what the menopause status is and your ovarian function. My best to you. This board is very busy and sometimes when I check I may miss a post so if you need to write me. Take care and the very best to you. Carmon > Hi carmon, > I also had the UAE 5 months ago. I also had horrendous hemorrhages and was anemic for 15 years. It wears you out. Unfurtunately I haven't had my period at all for this 5 months. I was on the pill to control heavy bleeding until january. > Did it take you 2 months to get your period? > How old are you? I am 43 only but I fear that the UEA may have precipitated early menopause. My mother had normal menopause at 44-45. > I never thought I would say this but I am looking forward to getting my period so it shows I am not menopausal. I am having hot flashes also this late after the surgery. I had an MRI a couple days ago and with the size of my fibroids- 19-20 weeks they shrunk 50%. I should feel great but I don't. I hope I am wrong but I think It pushed me into earlier menopause. > Women who have a family history of earlier menopause need to be careful because it can throw you into early menopause. Scary.!!! > I FEEL HORRIBLE. THE REASON I DID THE SURGERY WAS SO THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE BIRTH CONTROL PILLS. WHICH I ABSOLUTELY COULDN'T TOLERATE (SEVERE DEPRESSION,IRRITABILITY, MOODY...) TOOK ABOUT 20 OF THEM DETESTED THEM. NOW I MAY HAVE TO TRY TO SEARCH FOR HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY FOR THE BAD MENOPAUSE SYMPTOMS. TRULY NOT WHAT I WANTED > BUYER BEWARE THEY SAY THAT THE AVERAGE AGE OF THE WOMEN THAT GET MENOPAUSE AFTER UFE IS 51 BUT IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY HISTORY OF EARLY MENOPAUSE IT CAN BE MUCH EARLIER. I AM ONLY 43!!!! AND I FEEL HORRIBLE AFTER 5 MONTHS OF THE SURGERY. > NO BLEEDING AT ALL!!! EARLY MENOPAUSE???? HOT FLASHES, IMSOMNIA... I was on birth control pills for ever to control bleeding. I had the Ortho-evra patch until january after the surgery. I am sure that also is a factor. I have tried to be patient but it is very discoriging. It is like jumping from the skillet into the fire. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MY RADIOLOGIST THAT THE LATEST ANYONE GOT A PERIOD AFTER THE UAE WAS 6 MONTHS. ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD A LONG TIME TO GET THEIR PERIODS POST UEA OR HAD EALY MENOPAUSE AFTER SURGERY? >
