Guest guest
Hi everybody! I usually post on the cafe, but try to keep tabs here, too, when I can. Thought I'd share the latest chapter for those who are interested! (, you'll be sorry that you asked about me!) I've had quite a week. I posted an update on the other board...I'm too pooped to write a new post, so here is what I shared: After the whole bleeding/pain incident on Monday, things just kept getting worse. All day Tuesday, I had pretty intense cramping, back pain, and continued spotting (but only on the TP when I'd wipe.) By 5pm, it was too much to take. I was having unbelievably severe back pain...I couldn't even lift my leg enough to put my shoes on. So, DH basically dressed me, put me in the car, and took me back to the hospital. They did a cath. to take a urine sample...which clearly had blood clots floating all through it. (I guess the good news is that I wasn't having vag bleeding!!) Turns out that I had kidney stones! KIDNEY STONES for Pete's sake! One of my preggo books says that they occur in one out of every 1,500 pregnancies, so with those odds and my track record, I should have seen this one coming!! Holy cow...all I can say is thank goodness for morphene! Those who compare passing a kidney stone to labor have a pretty good point-it was definitely comparable. My OB kept me for 24 hours to flush my system with fluids, keep my pain under control, and keep tabs on me. Of course, the old UU couldn't handle sharing the limelight with my kidneys, so it had to start contracting, too. Fortunately the terb was sufficient this time-I don't think that I would have survived mag at that point! Luckily the ordeal was relatively short lived. I'd been unknowingly dealing with all of this for about a week, so a lot of it happened on its own. I think that by the time I got to the hospital, the stones were already in the ureter b/c my pain was kind of low. Fortunately, I was able to pass them throughout the night and come home today (feeling pretty weary and beat up, none-the-less!) I'm still on pain meds, but am feeling much better. We're still just shaking our heads! What luck, huh!! Don't think that I should waste any money playing the lottery, though! Sheesh! 22 weeks today
