Guest guest
Hi lovely ladies: For ladies who are thinking about participating in our first Women's Retreat Weekend in October (in Tampa, Florida): Please be sure to give us your input by filling out our Retreat Survey. We want to know what you are most interested in having and doing for sharing, sessions and fun. Tawny is compiling all the feedback to construct a glorious weekend for us. _http://sp-foundation.org/events-retreat-survey.htm_ (http://sp-foundation.org/events-retreat-survey.htm) The weekend begins on Friday, October 13 at 5:00 p.m. with a Meet & Greet Gathering Time followed by dinner at the Best Western hotel restaurant. You'll pay for your own dinner and drinks there. You need to make your own room reservations at a great rate of $75 per night for our group - SPF Women's Retreat - . If you need an accessible room, please book across the street at the Marriott as the Best Western's accessible rooms are all taken now. Jane Anne booked over there at the Marriott so you won't be alone. Call . Saturday will be our Ladie's Retreat : breakfast and lunch and snacks and a day of sharing and learning sessions and fun. We'll plan a dinner outing for that evening (or you can stay in or do your own thing). Hubbies or others can tag along for that. Sunday we'll have breakfast together and another retreat session and then do our TeamWalk walkathon together. Hubbies and others are encouraged to participate in the TeamWalk with us. We may plan more things on Sunday if the group wants that. The Retreat Registration Fee of $55 covers Saturday breakfast, lunch, snack, Retreat Room and programs. That also gets you your TeamWalk T-shirt. I checked out the hotel yesterday before we went to the airport. There is a huge social area with plenty of couches and chairs just outside of a good-sized lounge. Plenty of space for us! The restaurant looks great. The pool is an outdoor pool and there is a ramp to access it. I was told we usually have good enough weather in mid-October to use the outdoor pool. Unfortunately, the gym is not accesible - it's in a room that is a step up from the pool deck. That will be ok for us wobblers but not chair-users. I still have to figure out the TeamWalk route. It's in a pretty heavy business area. We could go out of the hotel lobby and do a walk along the sidewalk along the main road if the town allows that type of thing. When we had the TeamWalks in Virginia, we walked along a business boulevard. There's a park a few miles away and we tried to find it but got lost and had to get to the airport. So, I'll be talking to the hotel people and Flora and Doug to figure out the best thing to do for the TeamWalk. best, Kathi
