Or should I be patient and just wait a few more days to see if > my period comes after all? > Dear Sonja ~~ WHEW!! No one can ever accuse you of not being inquisitive enough! I hope this is a talent you have learned here on the list! ~ First things first . . . BREATHE!!!!!!!! It is going to be very hard for you to grow a healthy baby if you worry yourself into a state of unconsciousness! Speaking as someone who has " been there " (meaning I researched, read and watched enough Discovery Health tv to convince myself I had every pregnancy defying ailment from Asthma to eXema ), my very best piece of advice to you is . . . Relax!!! So many couples find themselves in similar positions and try EVERY known conception trick in the book ---- from funky positions, aromatherapy --- and Roma-therapy ~, drugs, procedures, tests and kits and FINALLY after they have given up all hope, and resolved to be childless and fancy free --- WHAMMO!!! They end up prego... all by themselves, with no other " help " than a little romance and a regular-old fashioned roll in the hay! My guess is their success is due to both partners aquiring a very healthy dose of relaxation of body AND mind! Sonja, it sounds like you have gotten a lot of great information about ways to increase your chances of creating your little miracle. Now it's time to give it time to let it all work! Most couples get pregnant within 6 months of trying. Take your time and let Mother Nature happen. ENJOY THE PROCESS --- it is SEX after all!! ~ Maybe it would be helpful to discuss with your RE and hubby a plan for the year. . . for example, if by July we haven't conceived, we'll try " X " , if by September, we'll try " Y " , etc... Allow yourself the freedom to be confident and trust that you have done and are doing what you need to do to give your future baby the best Womb In The House. I have to agree with Roma on the PID/infection front. You would KNOW if you had PID. Chances are you would be curled up in the fetal position and possibly speaking in tongues from the pain! Be cautious of your " pregnancy " symptoms --- sometimes we silly women can trick ourselves into the thinking we have something when we really don't. On the flip side of the coin I must confess. . . I tested three times (once in the Target restroom, once in the grocery store restroom and once at home) just to be sure! Keep yourself REALLY busy the next 2-3 days (to avoid that whole worry-wart thing), and if you still haven't gotten your period --- test again! It may just be too soon after conception for you hormones to have amassed enough to register on an hpt. Maybe try Clear Blue Easy Earliest Response the next time you test. If you still get a neg. result, and still don't get your period schedule an appt with your RE, have them do a test just to double check and then try to rule out any other reason (possible non-ovulation) for the missed period. AND THEN --- get back in the sack and keep on trying!!!!!!! ~ I'm thinking really sticky baby thoughts for you and can't wait to hear your positive hpt announcement!! All my best- Keep those questions coming!
