Guest guest
I'm now 25wks 3days (as the subject line says!) and am doing very well. I've only been to l&d 3 times this year, which is a big improvement from Dec. I'm still on bedrest but have been getting up more and doing more. I still try and sit a lot even when out and this seems to be working. I've had some contractions/cramping over the past four days, went to l&d everything was fine, so I've been laying very low and am feeling better. The baby is still kicking away and I'm enjoying his movements. I'm NOT enjoying all the " things " that have happened to my body but am trying to stay positive and hoping that my body returns to normal after he's born!! My little one has been head down for every single u/s so I doubt he'll end up breech when it's time for delivery. I'm more concerned about my labor stalling (due to my UU) and ending up w/ an emergency c-section. I'll have to talk to my obs about this and see what they say. I'd prefer to recover from a vag. birth (I had major surgery this summer and only did so well recovering because of some big time pain meds) but am afraid of going for it and failing (not as a personal failure, but from a pain/health failure) I'm not feeling very coherent so I'll end my update here. I'm tired, getting too big to sleep comfortably and just ate.... amanda hawks8997@...> wrote: Hi and Elanor, Just wanted to chime in here...I'm a UU and was able to have a vag delivery with my DS. He turned head down early on and basically had no room to go anywhere! My delivery was fairly uncomplicated. I had a few UU " problems " but nothing earth shattering. Midway through labor, my contractions basically got " stuck. " Instead of the usual up and down pattern on the monitor...mine just stayed up. They said that this was b/c my uterus was so overdistended. It was fairly painful, since I got no break from the pain, but they gave me pitocin which quickly fixed the problem (of course, this was all prior to my epidural!) I also had difficulty pushing effectively and had a vacuum assisted delivery/episiotomy. Again, I was told that this was due to the UU. I've never been told that a UU would only contract on one side, but it does make some sense to me. I have tons of contractions throughout my pregnancies and definitely feel more hardness on the left side of my abdomen (am a left UU.) I've even had the monitors fail to regiester contractions if they weren't placed to the left. All in all, I would say that it was a fairly smooth process. I recovered very quickly and felt great within a few days. This baby is currently head down and I would definitely opt for another vag birth if possible. (Although, I'd be totally fine with a c-section if necessary.) Obviously, it is such a personal choice. It's best to discuss the pros and cons with your doctor and to go from there. A vag delivery is definitely a possibility with a UU, though. Wishing you both a safe and smooth delivery! Elanor...can't believe that you've made it to 39+ weeks!! That's awesome! Guest guest
, Well done on getting that far, your doing well.. I had induced labour and ended up with ceaser cause my cervix wouldnt dialate on one side. Once inside though My ob said my pevis was a funny shape too and she also had the cord around her neck 3 times. None of this may have anything to do with the UU im not sure. My OB said tehre was no reason for my to just automatically thingk i needed a ceaser cause of the UU...
