I had a fibroid much smaller than yours removed. Sure, my life

wasn't threatened by it and I wasn't anemic. I could " live " with

it, but that meant putting my life on hold for at least one week

every month. Planning that week so that I would never be far from a

bathroom. Crossing my fingers whenever I made travel plans that my

period wouldn't start early or late. So I suppose having that

fibroid removed wasn't " medically necessary " , but my quality of life

has definitely improved since I got rid of it.

You know, I've been working around my periods for so long and didn't

even realize it. You're right, I actually planned trips around it.

Afraid I'd mess someone's bed up. You're right! Just yesterday,

of all things I sneezed and I thought I wet myself. No, it was

blood. I think I terrified my friend in the next cube. Looking

forward to getting normal.

Thanks,

If I didn't absolutely have to have mine removed, I'd have chosen not

to have the surgery but having been told that they keep growing..and

mine were huge...looked pregnant- I'm glad they are gone but mostly

cause I have a flat tummy and of course so the dr could attend to my

other med issue that was impossible to get near due to a fibroid. I

can sneeze without peeps and thats a plus:)

Your PC may be right. It seems you have time to think about it and

thats good. My concern is that when or if they get huge your choice

in procedures and dr's may be limited.
