Guest guest
In response to 's << >>> I'm 50, multiple fibroids (about 11, ranging in sizes from 9x9 mm to 4x4 cms...grapes to limes), and most likely perimenopausal. I have irregular periods (anywhere from 18-54 day cycle, lasting 5 days to 2 weeks), heavy bleeding, flooding and clotting, occasional pain, etc., but not so bad that my quality of life is suffering - it's mostly inconvenience. I've just learned to keep extra protection and extra underwear at work ! I sometimes have night sweats - but I haven't heard that those are related to the fibroids - this is probably the early menopause symptoms. As to the recent thread of discussion as to when to have a surgical procedure, I think that each of us has to do our homework, ask questions, get second or third opinions, and come to our own informed decisions, whether that be wait and watch, a myo, or the dreaded H-word. Surgery, ANY surgery, to me is a last resort, rather like going to war. All other options should be explored first. This is a great group -- very informative and supportive. Abhaya aldridge73s@...
