Has anyone heard of U-O-Clear?

I happened to be reading this heath book and came across an ad for a

chinese herbal remedy called U-O-Clear, which claims to shrink

Uterine Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts.

The website is www.magiherbs.com

Anyone have any experience taking this or any other chinese herbal

blend? Surgery and other treatments aren't really an option right

now because of the cost (no insurance), so I'm looking for

other " natural " alternatives and am specifically interested to see if

anyone has tried this.

Thanks,

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

I researched alternatives too for the very same reason. Chinese medicine is

interesting to me. It treats the " systems " of the body and seems to be more

proactive rather than reactive. One site I visited said fibroids have been

around for centuries and said it was stagnant energy or trauma. (Makes sense

if you believe in the whole mind/body connection.) I do take Dong Quai and

other herbal remedies on occasion. If you do decide to try U-O-Clear, please

let me know how it goes.

On another note, I've also done some research on nutrition and diet although

the doctor who diagnosed me said changing my diet wouldn't help. I'm not a

doctor but I didn't agree. It is my understanding that diets high in sugar

and caffeine or low in fiber affect the body's ability to regulate estrogen

levels. I've also read that a sluggish digestive system can also cause

toxins and hormones to stay in the body.

I have a large [degenerative] fibroid and the suggested treatment was Lupron

and then surgery. I'm 32 and have no children but would like the option. I

don't really want to wait but I really believe I will find a way to have the

surgery.

I am relatively new to this list but I've been so enlightened! Thanks to

those who've shared their experiences as they go through surgeries and other

procedures.

Sincere Regards,

- A.

Hi Debbie,

I have not heard of U-O-Clear, but I did take a Chinese herbal remedy

recommended by an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbologist for almost a

year. I'm afraid it had no effect. It has been about 7 or 8 years

now, and the last 3 years have been in Menopause. I am seriously

considering having surgery to get rid of my fibroids (one is

cantaloupe sized and the other is grapefruit sized). Although it

didn't work for me, I can't generalize to anyone else. But I would

caution you to be very careful. I quit taking the Chinese herbs when

I read an article about the lack of regulation and quality control in

medicines and herbs coming out of China. One in particular had been

found to be carcinogenic (I don't remember which -- it wasn't an

ingredient in the pills I was taking). -- Ruth
