Guest guest
Yes, I have the same thing. I hadn't thought about those buggers actually growing on my bowels, but I'm sure theres some connection with them. Diane
Guest guest
Hi, , I doubt that your fibroid has adhered to your bowel. Fibroids typically do not do this. It's more likely that when you have a bowel movement, the activity in the large intestine and rectum pushes against the uterus and this activates the bleeding. If anyone knows more about this, please step in here as I haven't seen an actual description of this, but am trying to visualize what is next to what in the pelvic region, and how a bowel movement could affect an enlarged uterus. Guest guest
When a fibroid adheres to your bowel & obstructs it the main symptoms are intestinal pain & vomiting of bowel fluids (trust me it happened to me) and yes it is very very rare. It sounds like maybe the strain of the bowel movement is causing your heavy bleeding...I sometimes bleed heavier during my period during or right after a bowel movement. It is just a guess, though. And, if it were a fibroid that was adhered to your bowel but not obstructing it I doubt it would cause vaginal bleeding - I would think your symptoms would be more bowel related. I don't think fibroids on the outside of the uterus usually cause much bleeding (someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) - I think fibroids on the inside or in the uterine wall usually cause the most problems with bleeding. Good luck to you. Cindy > > I could get down to very light bleeding and when i have a bowl > movement i > > pass huge clots and then bleed hevly for hours after. Guest guest
> Could my firbord have now grown on my blowls to be causeing this > dose this happen to any one else. Hi . My name is Chris. I'm relatively new to this board and have found it extremely helpful as I figure out what I'm going to do about my fibroids. I have months where I pass extremely large clots. Sometimes they are very tough, with little actual blood. I, too, have seen an increase during and after a bowel movements. My OB/GYN's theory is that my blood clots are so large that my body almost pushes them out like the delivery of a baby (and I have the pain to prove it) and a bowel movement somehow aids/triggers the pushing out of the clots. We probably can't prove that, but it's a nice theory. :-) Chris
Guest guest
Here's my 2 cents: I agree that fibroids adhering to the bowel is not the likely explanation. It's more likely to be intra-abdominal pressure. That is, if you " push " with your ab muscles to make a bowel movement, you are creating downward pressure on all the organs, including the uterus, so whatever contents are waiting to be expelled get an extra nudge. Same way " pushing " helps expel a baby. I've had this happen too, but it only happens when I have to " push. " If I have a bowel movement without pressure, this rarely happens.
