The new gene locus is for a dominant gene and is located on chromosome 2. An article announcing the discovery was published in the journal Neurogenetics. There is no abstract for the article. The scientific team included Drs. Zuchner, Kail, Martha Nance (the chairman of the SPF’s Scientific Advisory Board), Gaskell, Ingrid Svenson, Marchuk (recipient of an SPF research grant in 2003), Margaret Pericak-Vance, and -Koch.
