Guest guest
Hi, First of all thanks to all who responded to my ovary cyst question. I had an ab myo in September and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I am. Since the surgery to remove my fibroids I always seem to be cold. My husband even noticed it before I did. He commented to me again yesterday that " you seem to always be cold since you had the surgery " . I was not anemic before surgery and I am not anemic now. But this cold feeling is starting to get to me. Does anyone have a possible explanation? or comment? Thanks ladies. L
Guest guest
Hi there. Have you had your thyroid checked? One of the symptoms that I had (I have hypothyroidism) was being extremely cold and fatigued. Once I found out I had low thyroid function and put on meds I feel 1000% better. post myo question I had an ab myo in September and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I am. Guest guest
Hi, Funny that you should be saying that… I too felt really cold, maybe on week 3 or 4 post-myo, esp. at night!! It wasn’t THAT cold then, and we do have heating in the house, but I was sleeping with 3 layers on top of me, wearing fleece pyjamas, plus a very thick house coat, woolly socks AND a hot bottle water.. and I was STILL cold and shivering (I didn’t have a temperature or anything)!! My hands and feet were deathly cold, and even under the socks I could feel my feet as cold as ice! I’ve never felt this cold before the myo… I thought perhaps it was because I haven’t been very active, I’m not working yet, have not been exercising apart from walking to the supermarket every day, etc, but it could also be one of the nasty effects of general anaesthesia? It’s better now (week 6), but I still go to bed with wooly socks on and only wear fleece pyjamas to bed as otherwise would freeze in bed! I am seeing my Dr. tomorrow, so will ask him if it’s related to the operation. Chie
Guest guest
My usual cold shivers were particularly bad in the early weeks of recovery in Aug 2003. In addition to my other post on this, following (A)Roma's..... Could the thyroid be out of whack after the op? Are you sure about the post op anaemia? I didn't have a transfusion but have low iron apparently. Had blood pressure checked lately? It could even be something under your nose you weren't geared up to considering: Have you changed your eating habits? Have you moved home or work place? Are you less physically active? Have there been changes in the home?
