Hi Deborah, I am sending you info.taken from the links listed below

which go into much greater detail about the various procedures

available to us, but hope that this will help to answer your immediate

questions:

" Operative Hysteroscopy: In this procedure, the cervix is dilated,

which requires either a local or general anesthetic. A scope called a

hysteroscope is inserted up through the vagina and cervix into the

uterine cavity. It contains tiny surgical instruments as well as a

mini-camera and light source to view images of the uterus, which are

transmitted to a video monitor. This approach is becoming increasingly

common.A hysteroscopic myomectomy may be used for submucous fibroids

found in the uterine cavity. With this procedure, fibroids are removed

using an instrument called a hysteroscopic resectoscope, which is

passed up into the uterine cavity through the vagina and cervical

canal. A wire loop carrying electrical current is then used to shave

off the fibroid " " A resection is the removal of fibroids, using a

resectoscope; a resectoscope is a hysteroscope with a built in wire

loop (or other shaped device) that uses high-frequency electrical

current to cut or coagulate tissue. It is considered a less invasive

procedure. " Good luck & hope these links help clarify more for you!

7 cm tryed another resection.

Resection is a easy in that day out that day pordudire. My frist one did have

pain but was better by day two. I wish i could say the same about the last

This is not always true. My doctor was able to completly remove my

fibroid. It was on a stalk which made it easier. It is true that

if the fibroid is embedded in the wall that the doctor may only be

able to shave it off and you may need a 2nd resection.
