Guest guest
Hi there Sorry you've had the bad news of having fibroids. < " wait and see " approach since I am not ready to have children.> Timing is an important factor to consider, as fibroids sometimes turn up again (different ones)after a myomectomy. One statistic given is that 30 % of patients have fibroids again, but how long that reoccurence could take would vary. Ask the doctor if you can have them monitored from time to time to check on their growth as these things grow (or if they are unchanged, ideally). Also whenever you have tests in the future, ask for an up-date on your fibroid situation. Sometimes doctors note that someone has fibroids ona record without discussing them. Make sure your diet is balanced and healthy and you are getting enough iron and vitamins naturally in food form. Foods like dark leaved green vegetables and fruit are great for fibroids. A fibroid diet is basically a very healthy sensible diet that also helps the liver to do it's job. Bleeding problems are a fibroid symptom. Eat fruit juice or other vitamin C with meals rather than tea & coffee to help, rather than hinder iron absorbtion. If you are bleeding heavily do get advice from the doctor about what to do and who, how and where to contact if your period length and/or heaviness is of the kind that makes you feel ill and scared. You'll find other posters in the same situation. If you do reading up from the internet or fibroid books, you will know what you may want to ask. Do ask lots of questions and especialy the ones that will put your fears at rest. If you're worried about anything not answered by a doctor, ask here too. Guest guest
Hi, Sometimes using a ice pack on you abdomen will slow the bleeding. Sometimes driving makes it worse. You might have 1 fibroid causing this problem that could be removed by resection. Don't let them tell you to have a hyst. You have several options. My bleeding just got longer and longer until I was bleeding almost everyday. Fibroids don't get better. Check for anemia ASAP. Slow FE (slow release) iron and vitamin C will cure it. You can get it at Walmart, Targett, Kmart, pharmacies but Sam's Club is cheapest. Take care of this. Ku
