Guest guest
I thought this article was rather encouraging because of the amount of shrinkage (almost 50%). Has anyone here tried this? http://www.acog.org/from_home/publications/press_releases/nr01-31-03- 4.cfm Thanks, Deb
Guest guest
Hi, Looks like there were no other responses to your question about Mefipristone. I tried it for 3 months at 10mg/day. Most studies last at least 6 months and it has been shown to be effective even at 2mg/day. I have a 10cm fibroid and there was no shrinkage, however, it did not get bigger either and stopped the bleeding for 3 months! I think others on this group have researched availability and determined that it is not possible to obtain for treatment of fibroids. My doctor was able to obtain it, but it gets expensive since it is not covered by insurance and requires a compounding pharmacy to compound to the lower dose. I think there was another person on this list who was part of a study and did have shrinkage. > I thought this article was rather encouraging because of the amount > of shrinkage (almost 50%).
