When I had my post-op appointment three weeks after my myo, my doctor gave

us the green light to have sex again, as long as we used birth control (I

use a diaphragm). He said we should wait three months before trying to

conceive.

I had a 2 week post-myo appt. last Wed. and my Doc

told me 4 weeks. But to take it slow. Based on the

different responses it sounds like each Doc has their

own feeling and maybe it has to do with the location

and size. She also told me to wait at least 6 mo

before TTC.

Hope this helps

My doctor said 5-6 weeks. I know how you feel but try to concentrate on how good

you are going to feel with the fibroids out. I really feel like I worried way

too much before my surgery...the day or so before I just started to accept it

and told myself that I had the easy part just being out under general (which did

scare me though) and that the professionals had to do all the work and they were

under stress to do it right and make sure I came out all right. Try to relax and

pamper yourself and do the things that make you feel good before surgery. Also,

it helps to be around positive people. I know it's really hard but it will get

better.

Best to you,

Pearl

My GYN said no intercourse for two weeks after surgery. I had meant

to ask him if that meant no sex at all (no orgasms), but I forgot.

We went back to sexual activity after about two and a half weeks (at

my instigation not DH's!) but didn't have intercourse until 3 1/2

weeks after. It was kind of uncomfortable, though not what I'd call

painful, and my abdomen felt strange after orgasm. It got better

and easier each time after that. Honestly, though, it didn't

feel " normal, " or at least as good as normal, until last week, about

8 weeks after surgery.

One interesting observation: pre-myo, , uterine contactions during

and after orgasm made my fibroid much more noticeable. Post-myo,

it's nice to not have that unwanted third party!

Hi ! How are you doing? Thot I would throw in here too. At my 2-

week post-op appointment my doc said I could do anything I wanted

that didn't hurt or make me overly tired, including sex. As it turned

out, I was hesitant to try it out that soon as I was still having

some abdominal discomfort, so we waited til 5 weeks. At that point it

was totally fine (excellent really). I probably could have tried it

out earlier, no problem, which was how I felt about everything. That

is, when I started running (slow & short) at 4 weeks, I felt I could

have done it earlier, same with yoga.

Best wishes to you!
