Guest guest
Hi everyone I am scheduled to have an MRI next week with Dr. Zinaman in Chicago. Can anyone tell me what that is like? Write me on or off list -- fastproduct@... -- anyone know what " with and without contrast " means? (I think I will be in the tube 45 minutes.) At my initial visit with Dr Z he said an MRI made sense, my uterus is as big as 12 weeks. I just want to know how many, where, how big... My bleeding lasted 50 days when I tried the pill. I stopped it, and the past 2 days I have been blood-free. What a relief. I am having one of those veryvery rare days with no blood or bulk symptoms. Basically I want to get the least major surgery possible, and no more drugs. But I am going to try the DIM and Calcium d-Glucarate that everyone on " Healing from Fibroids Naturally " keeps talking about, too. Guest guest
Hi, I just had an MRI for the first time on Feb. 6 because they wanted to see how many fibroids I have, their size and location. I stressed and stressed over this. I even got my regular doctor to prescribe me something for the anxiety. Then when I got there I felt silly because I did all that worrying. I laid on a little bed and they gave me ear phones. They put on my favorite music. Then the lady asked if I wanted something to cover my eyes. I did opt for this because I just figured if I couldn't see anything I'd be better off. They also put in something like an IV thats the contrast part. They then turned the machine on my bed slid into this little round tube with both ends open. My feet where our of the machine and my head was near the opening at the other end, but still actually inside. I was squeezed in. My arms were squeezed. It reminded of when I was a kid and you used to go on those slides that were round and you had to squeeze your body together to slide down. They also told me 45 min I was done in 25. If you move they have to repeat the step they were just doing. So just remember to try and lay really still. So once they get you inside they tell you ok this part will last 2min and so on. Then when I was halfway done they said OK your feel the contrast going into your arm or in my case my hand. Then they start the machine again. All I know is I laid really still listening to my music feeling a cramped into the machine and when the machine was on I'd feel occasional heat. That's it. I hope this helped a little and I wasn't just rambling. I just hate when I worry myself sick to find out it was really no big deal. The story of my life. LOL Good Luck! Guest guest
: I would definately get copies of the films and show an RE. Most radiologists misuse the term BU when in fact many women are SU. I had an MRI and the radiologist stated that I was BU from the MRI. I went to an RE at Hopkins and she said that I was not BU but SU with a BU fundus. (top of the uterus) When I had my lap/hys that is what she found. Again, I think you should show your films to an RE who deals with MA for a definate diagnosis. Guest guest
: Ooops! Sorry I misread your post about your RE ordering the MRI. Glad that you have an RE to read your films to review the radiologist's findings.
