Guest guest
MEETUP COMMENTS: As one of the people seeking advice and information, I want to say thanks to all who came to the SF Meetup - I thought it was a very informative and supportive meetup. Thanks to Pat for leading the meeting and providing lots of information about NUFF, treatments, and her own experiences. And a special thankyou to Jackie and Lori who also have had treatments, and came to share their experience, advice, support and doctor information. , Judith and Lola - thanks for sharing your experiences and doctor info and I hope you find the answers and right treatments for your individual conditions. To anyone who is on the fence about attending a meetup - I would encourage you to do so. It makes dealing with fibroids seem a bit easier, and also gives hope that one day soon you too can get back to a more normal life. HYSTEROSCOPY QUESTION: Re my condition - I saw another dr today, had an in-office ultrasound with saline solution to improve contrast (sonohysterography). He says there are at least 1 or 2 small fibroids (<4cm) at least partially in the uterine cavity, that he thinks could be dealt with via hysteroscopic resection. He wants to look first with a hysteroscope - feels that will tell him more than an MRI - to see if there are other causes of my bleeding (e.g. polyps). It seems like the " estimates " of fib size and location from a sonogram or sonohysterogram are just that - estimates. I guess they really see what's going on when they cut for a myo, or use the hysteroscope camera, or use MRI. Feeling a bit frustrated about lack of precise info. Is there anyone out there who's had hysteroscopy for diagnostic purposes? Did it provide a lot clearer info about what all is going on in your uterus (types of growth, size, location)?
