Guest guest
Hi, Carol. Welcome to the group! It sounds like there's a good chance you're pregnant. I think you should definitely take a pregnancy test so you can find out. My period was always very regular. Once in a while, it was a day or two off. So when it was 6 days late, I suddenly realized I must be pregnant! Part of me knew it, and part of me couldn't believe it, even after I took a home pregnancy test. Actually, in my case, it wasn't a " home " pregnancy test. While I was walking from the train station to the office, I suddenly realized I must be pregnant since my period was so late. I was so excited that I couldn't wait to take the test. I bought it on the way to work and took the test in the bathroom at the office. Then I had to keep the good news to myself until I got home and could tell my husband. Work matters seemed very trivial that day! The timing worked out very well. I told my husband the night before he went in for hernia surgery, so it gave him something to be cheerful about. I suggest reading my post from Feb. 13, in which I discuss my pregnancy with the fibroid, pregnancy risks in general, and whether pregnancy with a fibroid is considered high risk: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/uterinefibroids/message/45671 Cheryl At 01:57 AM 2/16/2004 -0500, you wrote: >I just have a quick question about pregnancy and fibroids. Guest guest
Hi Carol~ Welcome and possibly congratulations!?!?!? ; ) I just wanted to add to the growing list of posts encouraging you to head to your local Walgreens and snatch up an EPT or two!! (I actually took a Clear Blue Easy Earliest Result, and then immediately followed it with an EPT --- oh yeah, and I was still in Target when I took the tests!! ~ ). Just to give you a little light of hope re: fibroids during pregnancy . . . I actually was trying to get pregnant, to see if it was possible before having surgery on the ol' fibroids. Long story short, the answer to that question was a resounding YES! as, in less then two months of trying, we were pregnant, and ten weeks later we found out we were having twins (conceived the ol' fashion way, none the less!). Like Cheryl on the list, I have posted about my pregnancy (I am currently at 31 weeks) and you can find out more about it in the archives - probably just search by my name . . . I will tell you that at last measurement, my intramural fibroid (which started out a 5cm) is now 10cmx14cm and stopped growing around 26 weeks. Part of it is necrotic, but, fortunately I have had very little pain due to this. I also have at least two other intramural ones, lower in the uterine wall, which started out as seedlings and grew slowly to about the size of plums -- they are no longer growing. Side note: I am only a hi-risk pregnancy because of carrying twins --- and as far as the roids go, they have not really caused any problems at all. All my discomfort, aches and pains, and even my ENORMOUS belly are a result of having two big, healthy bambinos in my belly ! ~ My best advice if you are preggo, be comfortable with your OBGYN, so you can ask TONS of questions and feel confident that she/he has dealt with pregnancies with fibroids enough to be able to be encouraging and supportive to you! So, get thee to a drug store and keep us posted on your " situation " ! All my best, . > Hello all, > I just have a quick question about pregnancy and fibroids.
