Guest guest
CACTUSKAT2: I’d like to refer you to a post in the archives of this list group – post #33624. (I even admit to keeping a post-it with that ## on it on my wall – because I refer back to it so often here!). In that post Dr. Wm. explains that sarcoma CAN be differentiated from fibroids using MRI – and gives the citation to the publication on that subject. So, if your doc suspects sarcoma – I’d suggest insisting on the appropriate MRI in order to determine whether it IS sarcoma – or just fibroids. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/uterinefibroids/message/33624 Also, fibroids are an entirely different thing from cancer and they don’t turn into cancer. Uterine sarcoma – a very very rare cancer has occasionally been mistaken for fibroids but as shown in the above article, they can now tell the difference using MRI. Sunny: Carla’s beat me to the punch. I’ve definitely seen the materials. Don’t have citations w/ me today – but will try to look for more for you. -- Or maybe someone else will provide them first. In addition to Carla's suggestions, you could start with the many reference in Plourde’s book “Hysterectomy and Ovary Removal . . .” and W. Cutler’s book “Hysterectomy Before and After.” There are so many many things on this subject – takes a bit of wading through. Just taking a quick look at PubMed as I eat lunch here I’ve run into 14 pages of cites one could check out.
