Guest guest
I spoke with Nora Coffey with the *Hers foundation, and while I am not necessarily a proponent for them, she gave me some valuable information! Questions to ask when searching for the Dr. who is going to perform your myo: 1.How many myos have you performed? How recent are they? 2. How many of them turned into a Hyster? (2 out of 50 is too many) 3. How many Blood Transfusions have you had to have for your patients? (2 out of 50 is too many) 4. How do you control bleeding during surgery? (should be perssion (sp?) or vaso perssion (sp?) or tournaquet (sp?) Lastly she said to read the consent form carefully and, rather than sign it at the Dr.'s office take it home and change anything that needs changing ie: giving permission to perfom a hyster! Anyone searching for a myo Dr. should at least have a consult with them before hand. They enlightened me. I think they may be able to refer a Dr to you as well, not sure. *Hers foundation, as far as I can tell, is a group of woman set out to help woman seek alternatives who have been told they need a hyster. Their number is 888-750-hers
