I have some trouble breathing deeply when lying down (despite elevated pillows)

and tend to swallow my own saliva down the wrong hole and choke at nite. I

don't have a cough. PLS affects mostly the voluntary muscles although i have

painful spasms in rib area at times. I am not a doctor and this is just my

experience. May want to talk to your neurologist.

That's a confusing one. PLS doesn't atrophy muscles. However I have

found in my progression that the muscles around the ribs can become

so rigid that the lungs can't expand....I don't cough with it.

The cough may be from just plain spasms in the throat...My opinion

only
