Guest guest
Hi everyone I am scheduled to have an MRI next week with Dr. Zinaman in Chicago. Can anyone tell me what that is like? Write me on or off list -- fastproduct@... -- anyone know what " with and without contrast " means? (I think I will be in the tube 45 minutes.) At my initial visit with Dr Z he said an MRI made sense, my uterus is as big as 12 weeks. I just want to know how many, where, how big... My bleeding lasted 50 days when I tried the pill. I stopped it, and the past 2 days I have been blood-free. What a relief. I am having one of those veryvery rare days with no blood or bulk symptoms. Basically I want to get the least major surgery possible, and no more drugs. But I am going to try the DIM and Calcium d-Glucarate that everyone on " Healing from Fibroids Naturally " keeps talking about, too. Guest guest
Hello Cyndi MY experience wasn't to bad a bit confining but it does'nt hurt or anything. My hospital that did my MRI had me put ear plugs in cause there is noise the machine makes.I've heard other hospital pump in relaxing music, but mine didn't offer music I wished they had,to distract me from the thudding noise. Its to bad that hospitals don't send out surveys on how to better improve patient care. Any way I had the contrast done and if I'm correct they use this to see all the vessels inside and blood flow. They injected the dye in my arm and there was alittle burning but it was no big deal. I think that the only uncomfortable part was not being able to move. When I lay on my back for any amount of time my left leg goes numb.My MRI lasted about I'd say 1 hour. At the end I was glad just to move. There is no pain envolved I'm sure you will do just fine. Good Luck > Hi everyone > > I am scheduled to have an MRI next week with Dr. Zinaman in Chicago. Guest guest
I have had many MRI's I have a Parkinson disease so they have been on the head plus had one on my knee (hated that one it hurt to hold the knee still). Some places have headphones with music others do not. If you are claustrophobic you may have some problems my mom can't handle it. But they gave her a sedative and she was able to go through hers. The worse part to me is the sound they are loud beating and humming noise. The contrast is a dye that they put in to help show details better it does have a slight burning feeling and I had a metallic taste after the test was over.
