Guest guest
Hi everyone- I've only posted once or twice before but I have a question for you folks out there. Does anyone experience cramping in their chest muscle? I have been having problems with this for about three weeks in my left pectoral muscle. It is sometimes just a dull ache but sometimes it cramps more and is quite painful. I do not have a definite PLS diagnosis yet - my diagnosis is still spastic paraparesis right now, but I'm wondering if this is more of a PLS symptom. Besides the weakness and spasticity in my legs, feet, and hips, I've also had spasticity and pain in my back and neck and in my arms, but that could all very well be due to my weird walking and change in posture. The chest cramping seems different to me though, but what the heck do I know! I see my neurologist on Friday and I will talk to him about this, but I thought I'd see if anyone out there is experiencing the same thing. I'm also going to ask him about the possibility of botox injections to alleviate the pain from my spastic neck muscles. Anyone out there use botox for there neck? - in Chicago
Guest guest
Flora- Thanks for your quick response! I was in physical therapy last summer and received exercises for home that I do pretty faithfully (at least I like to think so). I was told the same thing by my PT about trying to look up and not down. I spend about 12 hours a day on the computer for work and that probably doesn't help the situation! My walking is pretty variable right now-I use a forearm crutch outside of the house but manage to shuffle around at home without one. I imagine that any change to a regular walking stride, whether you use an assistive device or not, would cause some back and neck problems! I guess we just have to keep remembering to keep our heads (and our chins) up! - > > , I cannot relate to your chest cramping but I do have the neck > shoulder problem. Guest guest
Hey , i also have chest cramping on both sides. you're right, it hurts and makes it hard to breath. if di hasn't already responded, her PT gave her a good way to help alleviate the cramps when they start. i lay on the floor or bed, put some firm pillows under my back so my head is higher than my hips, and let my arms drop down the side (if that makes sense). opening my chest like that helps some. sarah > > Hi everyone- > I've only posted once or twice before but I have a question for you > folks out there.
