Guest guest
Hi, There is no proven diet that will shrink your fibroids. A good heathly diet can make you feel better and help control weight. Beware of certain herbs because they can help to increase your bleeding. Considering your bleeding, be sure to check out anemia. This is important! Slow FE iron and vitamin C will cure this. Anemia can make your bleeding worse. ANEMIA IS DANGEROUS. If your fibroids are in a certain locations, you may never get pregnant or the egg may not be able to implant. You also run the risk that if you did get pregnaunt, that the fibroid could compete with the baby and you could lose the baby. Being that you are bleeding heavy with yours, your fibroids are distorting your uterus. It sounds like your RE is right. Many women here have conceived after a myo. Others have lost babies because of fibroids. Others have had heathly babies with fibroids. If you are not trusting of your RE's advice, get another doctor. You can try to avoid surgery but sometimes it's impossible for many reasons. I had to have 2 within a year. The only thing I regret about my myo is not having it sooner. One thing I can tell you, fibroids only get worse. With fibroids things can get really bad. If you do have a myo, you'll need a C-section to deliver. Yes, the older you get, the less chance you have of conceiving. Talk to the women here about the fears you have concerning surgery. Tell them what exactly you are afraid of. This helped me. It may help you. Ku deborahepifani deborah@...> wrote: Hi, I'm new to the group and have lots of questions! I'm 34 yrs old and was diagnosed with fibroids about 5 years ago. Two are about 5 cm. and I have a bunch of pea sized ones. One lg one is submucosal and partially blocking a fallopian tube. I've had an HSG and with lots of dye they were finally able to achieve spillage into my ovaries. All other fertility test checked out ok except my FSH which is a little high but still within " normal " range. I had a myo scheduled last month but chickened out and cancelled it last moment. I do have symptoms from my fibroids (heavy bleeding, cramps, fatigue) but I would " live with them " to avoid surgery. However, my husband and I have been ttc for 3 years with no luck (he checks out ok). I saw an RE and she says my uterus is too hostile of an environment for an egg to emplant and recommends a myo. If I had more time I would try a more " holistic " approach with diet, exersize, herbs, acupunture etc. But I feel like my eggs are getting old! I have two main questions 1) What is the success rate of getting pregnant after a myo? 2) Does diet, herbs etc really help with shrinkage (ie should I stop eating meat and dairy etc as the books say?). Any information or advise would be much appreciated!!! Thank you! Deborah
