Guest guest
Hello all, like Rita I advanced to a computer from webtv. Thanks to Mark who told me how to change addresses and a son and grand daughter who are wizards with these strange machines. So after 2 or 3 weeks I think I can navigate? There are a couple problems people have I want to respond to.First Thyroid ..hashimoto something that i was dxed with 15 or 20 years ago. Dr used high doses of synthroid to kill all action of my thyroid and then adjusted dosage to normal. Symptoms were weakness, bladder infection (not uti) and throat infection, one after the other and when i started growing a goiter I looked up thyroid in my med book and found those 2 sxs are associated with the problem. Got strength back and no more infections. But hot and cold are big problems. If I get hot I sweat profusely and cold teeth chatter. feet swell any time legs are not elevated. I don't walk anymore except to transfer from lift chair to w/c or bed. Tawny, I have done water pt and other pt a few times and always became weaker with more spasms etc. So after the 1st couple years never had a dr suggest it again. I know some have said stretch and pt are important but I was using a walker then and activity with family and friends were more important and I didn't have strength for both. Di, I do very seldom tho, thank God have rectal apasms. srange and never know what causes them. I have had almost every sx that you all have, some stay and some leave. Throat spasms are the worst. after gagging, choking and wretching I can relax and carry on. I am on a new med.lyrica and it is working very well. went from baclofen to gabapentin (neurontin) to lyrica. Well back to exploing with my new toy. We are never too old to learn something new.but boy what a challenge with a cp/.... Blessings to you all...Jeanette from Tampa
