Guest guest
Hi all, I had my FUS treatment a year and a half ago. I wanted to join the clinical trial because my 8 cm. fibroid was pressing on my ureter and causing a mild obstruction of my kidney. I was looking for a treatment that would shrink my fibroid and improve my kidney function, without surgery. I had the treatment, and went for my follow ups at 1 week, 6 months, and 1 year. I did notice less pain a year post FUS. I had an ultrasound at that time, and my fibroid had shrunk from 8 cm. to 4 cm. There is no longer any obstruction of my kidney, and I have little to no pain, whereas the pain had been fairly constant. My uterus has not decreased significantly in size, but I'm hoping that menopause will come soon and will help with shrinkage. FUS was successful for me, and I got everything that I wanted from it. I would have another treatment, for further shrinkage, if it is offered to me. I would recommend the FUS at Brigham and Women's to anyone. Guest guest
Hi , Are you still there? I wanted to ask you if it took an entire year to notice a difference. I can still feel my fibroid, it feels just as big as it ever did. And sometimes it presses on my bowel, causing distress in the form of hemorroids and constipation. Just wondering...at the six month follow up, was there any shrinkage? Then at the year long MRI, it finally shrunk? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ~ linvd2001 linvd2001@...> wrote: Hi all, I had my FUS treatment a year and a half ago.
