Guest guest
> Hi, > > I was a bleeder like you, only worse. I was bleeding pretty much every day. Huge clots and flooding. It's a horrible memory. I had severe anemia (you must check this out for yourself). I was very sick. I took the Lupron.... Thanks for your feedback. My inclination is to first talk to some other doctors to see if they all recommend Lupron prior to resection or myo, or if some feel it isn't necessary. I know Lupron affects are temporary, but my gyn implied that I might be one of the few for which Lupron shrinks fibs enough to get back to reasonable periods, and be OK for awhile longer while they slowly grow back. HAS ANYONE had this experience - just Lupron injections, and been able to " buy " another year or two with no surgery???? > Keep on top of any anemia. This sent me to the ER more than once and they said it could have killed me. It's truly dangerous. I am. When discovered, my hematocrit was 29, and with 2 months of iron supplements it went up to 39, but then was down to 36 at my last test. Many people have said their heavy bleeding and anemia have " sent them to the ER " -- when do you decide to go the ER??? And what do they do - give you a drug to stop the bleeding??? The first time I had 4 hrs of constant gushing, I was very alarmed and called my gyn and he told me to go the ER. But by the time my husband got home to drive me, the bleeding had slowed down considerably, so I just stayed in bed and went to the gyn the next week. Now I don't worry so much when I get these 4-hour gushes - but if possible I do try to lie down, stay warm, and drink fluids. ANYWAY, I was just wondering how you decide to go the ER? I suppose the danger is that with heavy sudden loss of blood, your blood pressure can drop so fast that you pass out or die?? Thanks Ku, and everyone.
