I had an RE apt. yesterday for bleeding that I've had

since my hysteroscopy myo on 10/07/03. I have not had

a " normal " period before or after my hysteroscopy myo.

At first I thought maybe my uterus is just taking it's

sweet " old " (I'm 48) time after the myo to start doing

what it's supposed to do. It's been through a lot over

the years and maybe it just needed time to recover

from the surgery.

But inside, my inner voice kept telling me " you better

get your butt and your uterus back to see the RE

because this still isn't normal " . My periods were

still coming 25 -30 days, heavier than before, clots

(well you know how big they can get) and spotting for

at least 5 days after what I thought was the end of my

period. This last one started 3/2 and I'm still

bleeding. Oh joy!

Well I had a consult with the doc and he explained

this isn't normal and we need to see what's going on.

It could be one of three things. It could be a mass in

my uterus (asked him if it could happen that fast 10/7

til now) and he said yes, or I'm not ovulating, or

(sit down) another fibroid. He did a saline ultrasound

right then. And guess what (no peeking) another

fibroid! It is near the same area that I had my other

two (one 4cm another 20mm sort of on top of the

other). He fells it pushed through the wall and it's

about 3cm. Then while he's mapping it out for the

surgery he finds another area starting. This one very

tiny around 8mm or so. I saw the pictures from the

last hysteroscopy myo and my uterus looked brand new.

Nice and pink and clean. Just love this perimenopause.

So I need to have another hysteroscopy myo which I

will be scheduling in April sometime. I'm expecting a

period the end of March but it's to soon for me. I am

just thankful that I can have this type of procedure.

My doc is scratching his head because I'm one of those

" special " cases (he hasn't had to go back in for

another fibroid since '95). So we shall see if I can

make it past this procedure and sail into menopause

without another fibroid making an appearance.

I know someone just asked what is a " normal " period?

Well one day, hopefully in the near future I will

know. Oh and I have to throw a pap smear in there

because I haven't had one it two years. But I can't

have one while I'm bleeding. OK and this will happen

when? I've scheduled one for 3/24 wish me luck. : )

Sighing,

Diane P
