Guest guest
Dear , I know you will have more info once you get your MRI back, but if your surgeon is really good he shouldnt need to do a vertical cut. Vertical cuts have a longer recovery time. My myo Dr. Went in knowing that my fibroid was pretty huge (I looked 5 mos pregnant) and did a horizontal cut. But he does alot of Myos. In fact every Wed is devoted to myo surgeries either abodominal or lap. I think its really important, especially if you have a huge fibroid(s) to find a Dr. that really knows what he/she is doing and does it often. BTW I had a 12 cm fibroid when I got pregnant and had a healthy baby boy in Dec, but the preg hormones made that darn fibroid grow and grow. People thougt I was having twins. My fibroid was probably as big as the baby. Anyway, good luck to you.
Guest guest
I see many references to MRI. Is this imaging technique for diagnosing fibroids? Is it more accurate than an ultrasound? thanks My most recent consult: any opinions welcome > Number one, I *finally* got a referral for an MRI out of him (something I'd been rather unsuccessful at lobbying for from my doc), which I will have > next Monday morning. Guest guest
Hi Just wanted to let you know that when I had my MRI, the instructions also called for an enema, but when I called the lab in advance and asked them about it, they told me it wasn't necessary. You may want to check too. Good luck. p.s. I Lupron before my myo and was very fortunate not to have any problems, other than hot flashes, which were manageable, but I wasn't planning to get pregnant. > My only trepidation with this procedure is administering a Fleets enema to myself early on the morning of the MRI -- anyone else done this? Am I going to be able to figure this out and do it to myself? What happens, exactly? >After that, he wants to get together again and talk about what we're looking at.
