Hi Deb

I did feel quite down after first returning home [i

live alone] after having spent the first 5 days

post-op staying at friends. This was because it was

quite difficult to cope on my own and I was getting

very frustrated at how little I could do. I also got

quite down because my recovery seemed to be very slow.

In the end I took 7 weeks off work- the hospital had

signed me off for 6.

I'm now 10 weeks post-op & I'm feeling pretty good but

also get tired very easily- I tend to go to bed at

9.30/10pm most nights.

Maybe feeling down could be due to being frustrated at

not having the usual energy levels that one is used

to. I have also heard that many people do feel

depressed post-op, but I don't know the real reasons

for this, I can only make a guess.

All the best

Sue
