I went in to my doctor's appointment that morning feeling miserable and

nauseous and I started trembling so violently that the doctors and nurses

thought I was going to have seizures so I couldn't see my baby girl for a

I am so excited for you! I actually got tears in my eyes reading this email.

What a journey but you've made it and Madilyn has arrived. I would love to see a

photo...email bramanning@.... I think the c section was a great decision.

You've had enough to worry about during the pg being UD. The less stressful, the

better. The catheter incident sounds quite painful and I am surprised to hear

about the septum. I can't wait to see what they find with me. Madilyn sounds

like she is very healthy, weighing in at a good number and the perfect size. I

can only imagine your excitement these days. At least she sleeps well so that

you can as well. Anyway, my thoughts are with you and I am very excited for you.

You have been truly blessed and you're right...it is all worth it. Please email

me whenever you would like even if only to shout with excitement.

waiting for your post :) -

i'm sorry the spinal gave you such a bad reaction :( and i'm glad the

murmur is gone - my son was also born with what the drs call

an 'innocent' murmur but it disappeared at around age 2 -

i hope you recover quickly and painlessly from your c/s and i'm sure

you'll enjoy your little treasure :)

Congratulations, Lyn! I'm sorry that you had such a difficult delivery,

but very excited for you that your daughter is here and doing well! I hope that

she continues to thrive and that you get back to feeling like your old self

soon!

Best Wishes!

I was so excited too! My baby was born on August 9th of last year,

but I occasionally sign on to the board to see how you are doing

Lyn - I am so happy to see that all is well & you have a

beautiful baby girl! (I also COMPLETELY understand the catheter /

septum pain - OUCH!)

Congratulations on finally reaping the rewards of your long journey!

I would love to see a pic if you can spare a moment away from your

little one: jmejenkins@...

> Hello Ladies,

> As you may or may not have noticed, I've been absent from the

board for

> a while. Well, I'd like to announce the arrival of our precious baby

> girl!!!! Madilyn Paige was born on Thursday January 5th 2006 at

1:12 PM she

> weighed 7lbs 7ozs and is 20 1/2 inches long! (And might I add,

perfect!)

> I went in to my doctor's appointment that morning feeling

miserable and

> when the nurse took my blood pressure she was extremely alarmed

because it

> was so dangerously high. The doctor came in and examined me and

told me and

> dh to go directly to L&D for a probable induction that afternoon.

Well, we

> were a bit nervous and very excited. When we arrived at the

hospital, the

> nurse asked me for a urine sample and when I went, there was A LOT

of blood

> which scared the life out of me!!! The doctor there decided to

induce me

> with pitocin but when the nurse tried to insert the catheter, they

actually

> found that I have a vaginal septum (we didn't know about it prior

to this).

> So, the insertion of the catheter was extremely painful and I was

begging

> them to stop. The doctor came in and sat down with me and gave me

and dh two

> options. She said they could still induce me and let me try to

deliver

> vaginally and run the risk of needing an emergency c-section or we

could

> just do the c-section in a controlled manner. We talked it over and

decided

> to go with the controlled c-section, and I have no regrets about

it!

> Unfortunately, we did run into some problems. I had a horrible

reaction

> to the spinal block medication and as soon as she was born, I got

very

> nauseous and I started trembling so violently that the doctors and

nurses

> thought I was going to have seizures so I couldn't see my baby girl

for a

> very long time. A nurse had to stay with me constantly to watch me

and I

> kept pulling out my oxygen because my face was so swollen and

itchy. So,

> even though she was born at 1:12 PM, I didn't see her until about

5:00 and

> even then, they wouldn't let me hold her because I was trembling so

bad. All

> in all though, the entire experience was way worth it because she is

> absolutely beautiful!!! If anyone would like to see pictures, email

me

> directly and I will be more than happy to email you a picture. When

the

> pediatrician first examined her after birth, she heard a heart

murmur which

> really frightened us but each day we were in the hospital, it got

less and

> less noticeable and today when we took her for her one week

appointment, the

> doctor said the murmur had completely disappeared and she is

fine!!! (I

> guess it is common for babies to be born with a murmur that then

seals

> itself off a few days after birth). So far, Maddy is an excellent

baby!!!

> She sleeps 3 1/2 - 4 hours at a time and wakes to eat then easily

drifts off

> to sleep. We have found that she loves to be swaddled and covered

in cozy

> blankets.

> Anyway, sorry for the long post. If anyone has any questions

about the

> c-section or anything else, please feel free to email me. I am

going to try

> to get caught up with everyone's news and updates.
